If you’re not in the mood for the typical burger/sandwich and fries college town meal, then Beyond is the place for you. Beyond is an Asian cuisine inspired restaurant with some Spanish options as well. But don’t panic! If your friends are dragging you with them, and you aren’t in the mood for Asian or Spanish, they also sell burgers, sandwiches, and fries.

     The environment of Beyond seems pretty classy and upscale, but don’t let that fool you. The prices are amazing for both the quality and quantity of the food.  The most expensive dish on the lunch menu is only $11 and the average price for a meal ranges from $6-$7. The dinner menu is a little more expensive as the priciest dish is $17, and the average meals tend to average around $8 or $9.  The desserts tend to run a little high; the average for them is about $7 but this is primarily due to the fact a lot of the options are alcoholic.

     The lunch menu has a lot of variety including plenty of different sushi, sandwiches and fries, fried rice, salads, and classic Asian meals like beef or chicken teriyaki. All of these options offer a great amount of food with a great taste! The dinner menu is extensive, offering soups, salads, lots of different seafood options either cooked or uncooked, spring rolls, chicken, and much, much more. Last but not least, the desert menu offers different cakes and ice creams made with a variety of toppings.

      Whether enjoy walking through downtown Harrisonburg or you prefer driving, Beyond is a really short distance from the JMU campus.  It is about a five-minute walk from the quad or a two-minute drive. It is located on a side street that branches right off of South Main, making it extremely accessible for both walkers and drivers.  So whether you’re on a quick lunch break or just want to go downtown for dinner, head on down to Beyond for a great Asian cuisine experience!
