Food.Bar.Food

Only two blocks from downtown, Food. Bar. Food is a great place to go for a late brunch or early dinner before or after a day of exploring Harrisonburg. The staff is friendly, wait times are short, and the interior of the restaurant has the unique look of a hipster-foodie-meeting-spot, with one wall decorated entirely with window frames and pillows at every booth. Expect prices slightly higher than the ones on-campus (at dinner, meals run between eight and fifteen dollars, not including drinks or tip). Food. Bar. Food might be just the spot for you if you’re looking for a unique spot to eat that won’t break the bank.

At dinner, they offer unique twists on traditional menu items. Their Asian Spice Grilled Chicken was (of course) spicy but tasty. They even had (yes, really) ramen that was surprisingly tasteful with shrimp, pork, and a duck egg. If you’re hitting them up for brunch, consider their shrimp and grits covered in fried eggs or their buttermilk pancakes with blueberries and dulche de leche. For those of you in the above age crowd, be sure to try one of their mixed drinks at dinner. Menu items change weekly, so be sure to check their website before going. Reservations are accepted for parties of ten or more.
