If you’re looking for a remarkable burger and fries restaurant, Jack Brown’s is the right place for you. Jack Brown’s takes burgers to an entirely new level with unique combinations. Some of these combinations include but are not limited to, adding mac and cheese, peanut butter and mayonnaise, or a hot dog on top of a burger.

    Jack Brown’s has a specialty burger for everyday of the week, including a surprise topping burger on Saturdays and the Showalter on Sundays, which is a bacon, egg, and cheeseburger with Strite’s glazed donuts as the buns. To spice up your Mondays, the specialty is the deliciously spicy Chili Verde. If you need to make Tuesdays a little more interesting, the specialty is the Italian inspired JJ Caprese that is modeled after a caprese salad.  Wednesday’s special is the Popeye, named after Captain Popeye’s love for spinach, as the burger is topped with spinach dip. Thursday’s specialty is the nacho libre, which is basically nachos with all of the toppings on a hamburger bun, and Friday’s special is most of the JMU students’ favorite, the Greg Brady. The Greg Brady is a cheeseburger that has macaroni and cheese inside as the “cheese” in the cheeseburger.

    Whether you drive or walk, Jack Brown’s is a close enough distance for everyone to enjoy. The restaurant is located right along South Main Street, near court square, so when the weather permits, it is a nice stroll from the quad.

Moneywise, Jack Brown’s is pretty inexpensive.  With most meals being slightly more expensive than a large value meal from McDonald’s, most burgers with fries and a drink total to about $12, but it is completely worth it. In general, you get what you pay for, but in Jack Brown’s case you might even get more!  The burgers will definitely keep your appetite satisfied for hours afterward, and if you feel guilty for cheating a diet you can even walk it off on the way back to campus.

    Jack Brown’s has the perfect ambience for a college student who wants to enjoy a burger with his or her friends. There is a bar on the inside for people who care to take a drink as well as patio style seating right outside.
