Located within the Shenandoah Bicycle Company, Pulp is a small bar that serves Acai bowls and smoothies. When the bar first opened in 2010 it was the only acai bar east of Arizona. Pulp's bowls and smoothies are great, healthy vegan options. Acai bowls are made from the pulp of acai berries, a fruit rich in antioxidants, amino acids, and omega fatty acids. The pulp is combined with your choice of fruit and topping. Toppings range from things as exotic as local bee pollen to more classic options like dark chocolate. Each week there is a house and weekly special, but customers also always have the option of creating a custom bowl or smoothie. The acai bowls are served in cups that are great for when you're on the go, or waffle cones! If you have time, you can sit at the small window bar and enjoy your frozen treat in the shop.

     These treats are great for a healthy morning breakfast or an afternoon pick me up after a tough workout at the gym. Expect slightly higher prices due to the limited availability of this kind of treat. A custom acai bowl cost around $7 and each topping you add is an additional 50 cents.
