White Oak Lavender Farm

Whether it’s fun or relaxation you are looking for, the White Oak Lavender Farm can provide its guests with both. One of the owners, Julie Haushalter, explains the farm's mission is to "educate about the tension relieving properties of lavender" which she exclaims is, "surely a great fit for many college students!" Surrounded by fields of 8,000 lavender plants of different varieties, and the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, this family owned farm is a perfect escape from the stress-filled campus bubble. There are multiple places to sit and take in the beautiful mountain views and the lovely scent of lavender. The farm is also home to rabbits, goats, miniature horses, sheep, alpaca, hens, ducks, and other people friendly animals. Haushalter also claims, "spending time outdoors with animals and in the gardens is a healthy activity that can offer some refreshing relaxation." Visiting the Lavender Farm will give you the opportunity to connect with yourself and your friends through the spiritual experience that is fostered by this outdoor adventure.
Along with the outdoor adventure, White Oak Lavender also makes soaps, lotions, creams, aromatherapy, and culinary products from their freshly grown lavender. You can try their Strawberry Lavender and Blueberry Lavender ice cream as well! If you visit during the fall and summer bloom seasons, you will be able to take a little piece of your experience with you by picking your own lavender. Year round, you can also purchase one of their lavender infused products!
